Single Keema , Two Chapati & a Cola

She is too busy with office work , she didnt cook yesterday ,so she asked me to eat outside today . Which is normally a feast in disguise , I treat myself the best meal at Mugal Mahal . So called up my friend to drop me to work . On the way we passed by ‘Bayan’ . Asked him to drop me there . Went in , warm welcome as always been , as if i have been there yesterday [ though i have not been there for months now ] . Happy faces … Just as in Hindi movies i stood there having a flash back …

Just went back in time not many years ago when money was so not my friend . I usually ran out of cash on 2nd of the month , then again the borrowing spree started .. Living with 13 bachelors [ one bathroom] in a God forsaken old building that company provided . But those were the days , we had fun , all of us were so poor and broke , we used to order single keema [ 1/2 plate of mince meat] , two chapati and may be a coke almost every day.. there was so much joy and laughter while having the dinner or lunch . [Unfortunatley] some of them are still eating it . Some lucky ones are moved on to better places and learned to blog :P.
In my difficult days i read one perticular portion of the Holy Book Everyday which i’d like to add here
It is good for a man to bear the yoke while he is young.
Let him sit alone in silence, for the LORD has laid it on him.
Let him bury his face in the dust—there may yet be hope.
Let him offer his cheek to one who would strike him, and let him be filled with disgrace.
For men are not cast off by the Lord forever.
Though he brings grief, he will show compassion, so great is his unfailing love.
For he does not willingly bring affliction or grief to the children of men.
I dont want to forget who i am and where i started . Thats why i am not ashamed to tell you that today i ate Single keema , Two Chapati, and a Cola … And it still tastes good ..

Wish You all a Happy Ramadan..

  1. Isn’t God just great! He makes ways where there are no ways! Who would have beleived in those days that you would be where you are today! Glory to God…

  2. 🙂 – good person, never forget where you start from & you’ll go much higher in life… I like Chapati, not good for the waist though !

  3. It is praiseworthy that you still keep in touch with your humble beginning. In the long run, you will reap the benefits of this remembrance in terms of the grateful and down-to-earth person you shall probably have become.

    I applaud you for that.
